You may already have thought of this: If the vote's for a haircut, consider donating your hair to a wig-making project. I'm unsure how it works, but remember reading somewhere/sometime about a group of people who donated their hair to be made into wigs for youngsters (the kids has lost their hair due to chemo/treatment).
